Neuropsychology
Understanding brain-behavior
relationships is the essence of modern neuropsychology. In cases
where there has been an injury to the brain, either through trauma
such as closed head injury, or through illness such as dementia
or stroke, understanding the which functions have been lost and
which remain can be critical for cognitive rehabilitation to be
successful. Neuropsychological insights can also be of crucial importance
in vocational rehabilitation, disability determination, and personal
injury litigation.
