Dr. King earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2008. She completed her internship at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) and postdoctoral training at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center where she received extensive training in the assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She has psychological and neuropsychological assessment experience with a variety of populations, including veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as children and adults with learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Provided psychological assessment and psychotherapy to adults who sustained traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Performed consultation-liaison duties with physicians and other health care professionals regarding assessment and treatment recommendations for adults who had suffered recent traumas, including burns, injuries from motor vehicle accidents, and gun-shot wounds.

PTSD Treatment Outcome Study, Eastern Michigan University Psychological Clinic, Ypsilanti, MI

Performed 8-session structured exposure treatment for trauma patients. Conducted initial assessments using the CAPS, SCID I, BDI, and BAI and re-assessments at one-month and three-month follow-up intervals.

September 2005 – June 2006

Ann Arbor VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI

Performed weekly neuropsychological assessments with adults and elderly patients for problems ranging from learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety or depression, and neuropsychological deficits. Administered, scored, and interpreted clinical scales, objective personality instruments, and intelligence tests. Wrote integrated reports for use in treatment planning. Conducted career counseling in individual and group format with severely mentally ill veterans focusing on skills training and vocational rehabilitation.

September 2006 – August 2007	University of Michigan, Institute for Research on Women and Gender Ann Arbor, MI Assisted with data analysis using structural equation modeling (SEM) on grant-funded projects examining the relationship among sexual assault, depression, and substance use in adolescent girls and characteristics of perpetrators of alcohol-related sexual assault.
